Support for Mentors

BP organizes regular training sessions and retreats. Such events also provide excellent opportunities for the mentors from the various mentoring institutions (such as NUS, SMU, NTU, Ngee-Ann Poly and Singapore Poly) to come together and network.

Welcome to NUS BP Mentoring Blog

About NUS-BP Mentoring
The NUS-BP Mentoring Programme is a community-service project sponsored by British Petroleum. Under the programme, mentors are matched with mentees to help these younger pupils raise their personal development and academic standards. Here at NUS, we mentor academically weak students from Geylang Methodist Primary School from 10 am to 12 noon every Saturday. Our mentees are EM3 pupils from Primary 5 and Primary 6 and we try to kindle their interest in English and Maths through a combination of games and experiential learning.

Commitment
We need you to commit to a timeframe of at least nine months, for 2 hours every Saturday from 10am to 12 noon.

Why should I be a Mentor?
Personal Mentoring yields deep personal satisfaction and hones invaluable people skills. In addition, you get to meet new friends who share in your compassion and desire.
We all need a helping hand once in a while. For a child, that helping hand can means the difference between success or failure. Be an Inspiration. Be an NUS-BP Mentor.
